About the Dean

Dr. John Michael O. Lorena, RN

Dr. John Michael O. Lorena, RN, earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Trinity University of Asia – St. Luke’s College of Nursing in 1994, followed by a Master of Arts in Nursing with a major in Nursing Administration in 2009. Dr. Lorena furthered his academic pursuits by obtaining a Doctorate in Nursing Management in 2017. With a wealth of experience and expertise, Dr. Lorena has held various leadership roles, including serving as the former Vice President and Board of Director of the Philippine Nurses Association Zone 3, Incorporated. Additionally, he has contributed to the advancement of nursing education as a Board of Director for the Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing, Incorporated (ADPCN, Inc). Dr. Lorena was also a Faculty Fellow of the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia, Inc. (UBCHEA). He is also an Accreditor for the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU). His dedication to nursing education and leadership has made a significant impact on the nursing community both locally and globally.

Student Organizations

St. Luke’s College of Nursing boasts a vibrant array of student organizations that enrich the academic and professional experience of its students. These include the Student Nurses’ Association, which offers networking opportunities and professional development; the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, which recognizes and fosters excellence in nursing; and various interest-based groups such as those focusing on clinical specialties or community service. Through these organizations, students can engage in leadership activities, community outreach, and peer support, all while enhancing their nursing education.
